Defying Gravity - part I

Wow. It's been a LOOOONG time since I submitted anything here (or kept tabs). >.<

Anyway, for this year's Shoujo Phonebook submission, I wanted to do something different than my usual music themed comics. I wanted to draw about a 15-17 pg. story without any dialogue. I thought this would be a good exercise of defining action, and it'll save me the time for writing something that I think will end up cheesy anyway. (I really need to work on my dialogue writing skills sometime hehe). I also wanted to stray away from the typical manga toned style and use something more painterly. Hence the airbrushing. But I eventually will need to grayscale everything (since the format of the book is B+W), so the lighting might change as I'm messing with that. And of course, it's been awhile since I used painter...(just upgraded to Painter IX, courtesy of school XD) .

This page and the next that I'm submitting is a study of what I want to portray for the climax of the story...so I apologize in advance for ruining the ending for you As you can tell, it's about a boy and his bike. Oh, and title is tentative...any suggestions, will be highly appreciated.
