Stars Lanterns and Butterfly

My first project in Maya for computer class. I really wanted to play a lot with lighting..so I chose this night scene with lanterns. I went crazy trying to add texture to the butterfly so I chose an alternative method of just shading it in. I'm not exactly sure how the background sky looks..I'm a little disgruntled that I can't seem to alter the sky the way I want to. So as it goes, there's a detail pic of the butterfly, one of the lanterns, and then an overall pic of the scene. Any comments are greatly appreciated since I'm still trying to learn more (probably will never stop) on how to use this program effectively. ^.^;;
